We are from Madurai-Kalligudi, specifically from a small village called Agathapatti. Our family has been in the hotel business for three generations.
Madurai’s rich cultural heritage is married to its culinary identity as Tamil Nadu’s food capital. A cuisine that draws influence from all its trading partners, from the Saurashtra Gujaratis and Chettinad to Sri Lanka, food in Madurai is a hodgepodge of all these culinary styles. Humble yet fierce and bold flavours characterise Madurai's cuisine.
The Madurai region has its own unique dishes such as Muttaiparotta, Paruthipal, Karidosai, Jasmine Idli, Irameen Kuzhambu and it is the place of origin of the milk dessert Jigarthanda. Non vegetarian dishes from Chettinad and Madurai are one of the most renowned among the South Indians.
